KENT, Ohio (AP) _ Joshua Cribbs threw two touchdown passes, and David Alston ran for a pair as Kent State beat Bucknell 38-17 Saturday night.

Cribbs completed 10 of 22 attempts for 145 yards, including scoring passes of 28 yards to Matt Curry and 44 yards to Joshua Bostick in the second quarter.

Alston opened the scoring with a 44-yard run in the first quarter. He added a 10-yard touchdown run in the fourth as the Golden Flashes (1-1) rebounded from a 51-0 loss at Iowa in their season opener.

Alston finished with 73 yards on 12 carries. Cribbs carried the ball 18 times for 90 yards.

Kent State's Justin Baugham returned a fumble 89 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter, and Dave Pavich kicked a 28-yard field goal with nine seconds left before halftime to make it 31-7.

Division I-AA Bucknell (0-1) got a 69-yard touchdown run from Jabu Powell in the second quarter. He finished with 110 yards on 18 carries.

Todd Wenrich threw a 7-yard scoring pass to Jess Brinson with nine seconds to play for Bucknell, and Chris Lundberg kicked a 30-yard field goal in the third quarter.
