ORONO, Maine (AP) _ Cindy Blodgett shrugged off early foul trouble and finished with 37 points as Maine won its third consecutive America East Conference championship with a 92-70 victory Saturday over Vermont.
Maine (22-7) receives an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
Vermont (21-8) led by as much as six points in the first half, but the Black Bears took the lead for good with less than a minute left in the half to make it 44-42.
Maine started the second half with a 22-11 run, with 13 of those points coming from Blodgett.
Blodgett, who picked up three fouls in the first half, went on to set a tournament record with 128 points in three games. She was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
Alex Lawson scored 19 points for the Catamounts, and grabbed a 10 rebounds. She was named to the All-Tournament team along with Karalyn Church.
Sandi Carver, who tied a season-high with 15 points for the Black Bears, joined Blodgett and Jamie Cassidy on the All-Tournament team.
