LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police say NBA free agent Nick Young has been arrested in Hollywood during a late-night stop for a routine traffic violation. Police say Young was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of delaying an investigation because he didn't obey officers, became upset and caused a delay. He was booked early today and released. Young played for the champion Golden State Warriors last season.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Former Oklahoma basketball star Blake Griffin returned to campus today for the dedication of the Griffin Family Performance Center. The 2009 AP Player of the Year made the largest donation ever from a Sooner basketball player to help with the $7 million center. Griffin plays for the Detroit Pistons, and the NBA club will train at the facility before its Oct. 3 preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) — South Korea has earned a spot in Little League World Series championship with a 2-1 victory over Japan. Choi Ji-hyung blasted his third home run of the series, then struck out seven over 4 2/3 innings. South Korea has won all four of its games. It will face the winner of today's U.S. title game between Hawaii and Georgia.

CLARKSDALE, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi high school football player who collapsed on the sidelines of a game has died. News outlets report 16-year-old Byhalia High School sophomore Dennis Mitchell collapsed on the field yesterday and died at a hospital a few hours later. The Coahoma County coroner says an autopsy will be performed.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A minor league baseball team from New Hampshire will take the field as normal tomorrow except for one thing — they will be blindfolded. The New Hampshire Fisher Cats will take on a team from Future In Sight, an organization that supports blind and visually impaired people. The exhibition game of Beep Baseball will feature bats and balls which send signals to alert players as they hit, run, and field. The goal is to give players and fans an appreciation of what life is like for people who are blind or have limited sight.
