West Ham beats managerless Palace 3-1

LONDON (AP) — West Ham increased the early-season misery for managerless Crystal Palace by winning 3-1 at Selhurst Park on Saturday to earn its first points in this season's Premier League.
Argentine striker Mauro Zarate marked his debut for West Ham with a superb volley to put the visitors ahead in the 34th minute and Stewart Downing doubled the lead three minutes later with a curling shot.
Marouane Chamakh gave Palace hope with a low finish from outside the area in the 48th but Carlton Cole's volley in the 62nd ensured a second straight loss for the hosts, who are still without a manager following Tony Pulis' resignation two days before the start of the season.
West Ham began the season with a 1-0 home defeat to Tottenham.
