NEW YORK (AP) _ Heather, will you marry me? Yesssss!

Sportscaster Marv Albert, 54, was scheduled to marry his 39-year-old fiancee, Heather Faulkiner, today in New York, according to the Daily News and the New York Post.

Albert was fired by NBC last year after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge. He was accused of throwing his former girlfriend, Vanessa Perhach, on a bed in a Virginia hotel room, biting her on the back more than a dozen times and forcing her to perform oral sex.

Faulkiner stood by Albert throughout the humiliating trial.

The MSG Network has since rehired Albert to do radio play-by-play of New York Knicks basketball games and anchor a nightly sports show on cable television. Albert is noted for his ``Yesssss!'' cries during sportscasts.

Albert's daughter, Denise, a child from his 25-year marriage to Benita Oberlander, told the Daily News the couple were to marry in a Jewish ceremony at a Manhattan hotel.
