NEW YORK (AP) _ Spavinaw raced to her second victory in two career starts, beating Love on Hold by 3 1/4 lengths Wednesday in the $83,375 Joseph A. Gimma Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Belmont.

Spavinaw, ridden by Edgar Prado, ran seven furlongs in 1:25, and paid $3.30, $2.90 and $2.50. She earned $50,025 for owners Dwight and Perry Sutherland.

Love On Hold returned $8.80 and $5.80, and Technolass paid $4 to show.
