LASALLE, Ill. (AP) — Workers renovating an Illinois high school have discovered several decades-old items including 1980s photographs and documents dating to the 1930s.

The items were found behind lockers in a wing of La Salle-Peru Township High School built in 1936, the News-Tribune reported. It's the second time relics have been found at the school this year during renovations.

"It's a pretty interesting mix and stuff that hopefully we can do some researching and connect some with family members," said school spokesman Matt Baker.

Among the items was an ad for a 1945 Youth for Christ rally, a receipt dated 1933, handwritten notes and a copy of the book "West Side Story" that someone checked out from the library, according to the newspaper.

There were also other more recent things from the 1970s and 1980s, including a notebook cover featuring World Wrestling Federation star Hulk Hogan.

Many of the items have connections to former students.

Laurie Dudek of Oglesby recognized the Hogan notebook. She attended the school from 1985 to 1988.

"It's great to see memories like this," Dudek told the newspaper. "I was such a huge Hulk Hogan fan back then. "

During the summer workers also found items while renovating an older part of the school this summer, including a report card from the 1940s and a 1949 resident hunting license.
