BALTIMORE (AP) _ Jerard Rucker made three of five second-half 3-pointers and Scott Deas came off the bench to score 18 points to lead Morgan State University to a 73-64 win over Howard University Thursday night.

Jabar Outtz paced Howard (0-15) with 22 points, but Howard was held to a school-record field goals in the first half, as the Bison made just four of 19 attempts for 21 percent from the floor. Howard was down by 9 at the break, 26-17.

Morgan State started the second half with a technical foul on Head Coach Chris Fuller to pull Howard to within 7 points. Morgan went on a 10-2 run and were up by as much as 17 with 7:59 left. Outtz then scored 8 of Howard's next 12 points to pull the Bison within 6 with 2:48 to play. Morgan called time out, then Deas got the feed off a steal by Paul Grant and was fouled on a driving layup, which counted.

Deas converted the free throw to put the score at 62-53 with 1:52 remaining. Grant, who finished with five steals, made a jumper with ten seconds remaining for the final margin.
