Oct. 16, 2017
TURNER, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say an Oregon woman was found shot to death when deputies searched the home of a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Lt. Chris Baldridge of the Marion County Sheriff's Office says 53-year-old Clayton Stanfill walked into the Turner Fire Department Sunday afternoon. He received treatment at the station before being taken to Salem Hospital. He's expected to recover.
Deputies went to Stanfill's home in Turner and discovered the body of his wife, 52-year-old Judy Stanfill. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
Baldridge says detectives are still investigating, but don't believe anyone else was involved. No arrest has been made.
Judy Stanfill worked at Marion County Circuit Court.
