Feb. 20, 2002
BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) _ A man shot and killed his sister in an estate dispute at a law office Wednesday, critically wounding himself after fleeing to a nearby neighborhood.
Police did not release the names of the shooter, the victim, nor the law firm at the Mellon United National Bank building. No one else was injured.
The shooting happened around 11 a.m., as the siblings were meeting with a lawyer to mediate a dispute over an estate, said Jeff Kelly, a spokesman for the Boca Raton Police Department.
Police evacuated the building while searching for the man. He was found in a nearby residential neighborhood with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest, Kelly said.
He was hospitalized and listed in critical condition, Kelly said.
There were no details on the estate.
