CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) _ Reserve Tracy Atwater scored 10 of her 15 points in the second half to rally 10th-ranked Southern Cal to a 63-56 win over Oregon State in the Pacific 10 Conference opener for both teams.

Southern Cal (8-1, 1-0) trailed much of the game and faced a 50-41 deficit with 7:55 to play. But the Trojans went on a 22-6 run to close the game.

Southern Cal took the lead for good on Tina Thompson's rebound basket that made it 54-42 with 4:02 remaining.

Oregon State (8-2, 0-1) went 4 1/2 minutes without scoring during the Trojans' run.

Tonja Kostic, the Pac-10's leading scorer, was held to 11 points for Oregon State, more than 10 points off her average. But the Beavers got 25 points from Anette Mollerstrom.

Nicky McCrimmon scored 15 for the Trojans, who also got 13 points and 14 rebounds from Lisa Leslie.

Oregon State plays host to UCLA on Saturday while USC travels to Eugene for a game against Oregon.
