COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ The Columbus Blue Jackets recalled defenseman Derrick Walser and right wing Andrej Nedorost from AHL club Syracuse on Saturday.

Both players were demoted in the final preseason cut.

Walser had one goal in two games with the Blue Jackets last season. He played in 73 games at Syracuse, and had 23 goals and 38 assists for a team-high 61 points.

Nedorost, who scored three goals in the preseason, had two assists in seven games in Columbus last season. He had five goals and 13 assists in 37 games with Syracuse.
