TURIN, Italy (AP) _ A security guard in northwestern Italy shot and killed seven people Tuesday and then killed himself, police said.
The victims, all adults, were found in two adjacent apartments in Chieri, near Turin, said Col. Filippo Ricciarelli, of the carabinieri military-police in Turin.
Police were still investigating, but a murder-suicide was suspected, Ricciarelli said.
The ANSA and AGI news agencies said the man was a security guard, and that he opened fire on family members and neighbors before turning the gun on himself.
