JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — The mother of a 4-month-old boy found dead in Stutsman County is being held in a Jamestown jail.

KQDJ radio reports that 25-year-old Justice Lange is behind bars on a probation hold and unpaid fines in Jamestown Municipal Court.

Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser says Lange was hospitalized while officials searched for her missing child. Lange was moved from a Fargo hospital to the Stutsman County Correctional Center Monday night.

Lange told authorities that she could not recollect the previous four days or where she had left the baby. The child's body was found Saturday afternoon near a slough in rural Stutsman County.

Kaiser says authorities are awaiting autopsy results before filing any charges against Lange.
