NEW YORK (AP) _ ``Sex and the City'' star Sarah Jessica Parker and her actor-husband, Matthew Broderick, have named their newborn son in memory of Broderick's father.
The 6-pound, 8-ounce boy, who was born Monday at a Manhattan hospital, has been given the name James Wilke Broderick, in honor of actor James Broderick, Parker's spokeswoman, Ina Treciokas, said Friday.
James Broderick, who died in the early 1980s, starred in the '70s TV series ``Family.''
``Everybody is totally over the moon and ready to go home'' said Simon Halls, a spokesman for Broderick. The couple live in Manhattan.
``They're all doing great,'' Treciokas said. ``Everything went smoothly.''
It is the first child for Parker, 37, who plays sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw on the popular HBO show, and Broderick, 40, who recently co-starred with Nathan Lane in the hit Broadway show ``The Producers.''
