MUNICH (AP) — Gianluca Gaudino became the third player to leave Bayern Munich in this winter transfer window when he joined Swiss club St. Gallen in a loan deal on Saturday.
Bayern says the 19-year-old Gaudino will return to the club after one and a half seasons in Switzerland.
Gaudino, the son of former Germany international Maurizio Gaudino, impressed briefly last season with eight league appearances and one each in the Champions League and German Cup, but failed to break through or make any appearances for the senior side since. His contract with Bayern runs through June 2018.
Gaudino follows Jan Kirchhoff and Sinan Kurt away from the Bundesliga leader this month. Kirchhoff joined English Premier League side Sunderland on Friday, and Kurt went to Bundesliga rival Hertha Berlin on Thursday.
