South Carolina deputy fired after sex charged filed

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A deputy at a South Carolina jail has been accused of having sex with an inmate.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office said Deputy James Wagner was charged on Tuesday with sexual misconduct with an inmate.
On Thursday, the sheriff's office said Wagner has been fired. He had been with the sheriff's office since January 2016.
Wagner was placed in the county jail. His status couldn't be determined on Thursday.
