ATLANTA (AP) _ NBA veteran Rick Mahorn and Orlando Magic assistant Eric Musselman will be assistant coaches on Lon Kruger's staff in Atlanta.

Mahorn, who played for Washington, Detroit, Philadelphia and New Jersey during his 18-year professional career. He helped Detroit win its first NBA championship in 1989.

Last season, Mahorn, 41, coached the Continental Basketball Association's Rockford Lightning.

Musselman, 35, spent last season as an assistant with the Magic and was a scout for the team during the 1997-98 season. Musselman first worked in the NBA in 1990-01 as an assistant for his father, the late Bill Musselman, former coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
