LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) _ Conley Verdun's 24 points led five players in double figures as Southwestern Louisiana came from behind for a 95-85 victory over Western Kentucky in a Sun Belt Conference game Saturday night.
Verdun hit on five 3-pointers, three of them in the second half when Southwestern rallied from as many as 15 points behind in the first half.
The Ragin' Cajuns (13-7 overall, 7-5 in the Sun Belt) cut Western Kentucky's 15-point lead to 39-35 at halftime and took the lead for good midway through the second half.
The loss dropped Western Kentucky (10-11, 7-6) out of a third-place Sun Belt tie with Jacksonville, which beat Lamar in another Saturday night game. Western Kentucky had won six of its previous eight conference games.
In addition to Verdun, who hit the 20-point mark for the ninth time this season, Reginald Poole added 19 points and a game-high nine rebounds off the bench, Chris Manuel scored 18, Ron Bailey 13 and Chris Snowden 12.
The balanced-scoring USL attack scored more points than Western Kentucky had allowed all season.
Chris Robinson had 21 points for Western Kentucky, which lost to Southwestern for the first time in their last four meetings and for the first time in six regular-season Sun Belt games.
Rob Williams added 19 points while Tony Lovan had 13, Brad Divine 12 and Carl Thomas 10 for the Hilltoppers.
