NEW YORK (AP) _ The NBA today fined the Portland Trail Blazers $25,000 and players Kelvin Cato and Rasheed Wallace $2,500 each for violating the league's rules on baggy shorts.
Shorts worn during games cannot be no lower than 1 inch above the top of the knee. Last week, the league fined the Minnesota Timberwolves $25,000 and five players $2,500 each for the same violations.
The league also fined Popeye Jones of the Toronto Raptors $10,000 for a flagrant foul committed against Boston's Ron Mercer in Toronto's 103-99 loss last Friday night.
