Man faces 30 years for shooting at deputies

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man has been convicted of shooting at deputies.
Court records show that 26-year-old Rones Sagesse was found guilty this week of two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. He faces up to 30 years in prison at an April 16 sentencing.
Authorities say Lee County deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a Fort Myers home in November 2016. As deputies approached a house, Sagesse was sitting outside and opened fire. One of the deputies returned fire, hitting Sagesse in the leg.
Sagesse fled but was later captured after the sheriff's office called in K-9s and helicopters to search the area. Officials say the gun that Sagesse fired at the deputies was later found behind a shed.
