GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) _ Apparel maker VF Corp. is buying Sunbeam Corp.'s Eastpak business, which includes backpacks, book bags and other school accessories.

Terms of the agreement, announced Monday, were not disclosed.

The Eastpak products will be rolled into VF's existing JanSport division, based in Appleton, Wis., VF officials said. JanSport is the world's largest marketer of backpacks and a leading producer and marketer of outdoor-oriented equipment, luggage, apparel, accessories and travel packs.

With $5.6 billion in annual sales, Greensboro-based VF is the world's largest apparel company and a leader in jeanswear, intimate apparel, workwear, knitwear, playwear, daypacks and swimwear. Its principal brands include Lee, Wrangler, Riders, Rustler, Vanity Fair, Vassarette, Bestform, Lily of France, Healthtex, Jantzen and Red Kap.

Sunbeam Corp., based on Boca Raton, Fla., designs, manufactures and markets consumer products under brand names including Sunbeam, Mr. Coffee and Oster.
