ARCADE, Ga. (AP) — Police say a Georgia man shot and injured three adults before turning the gun on himself during a family Fourth of July gathering.

Arcade Police Chief Randy Williams tells local media the incident happened Wednesday night in Jackson County. Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Nelly Miles says the gunman, whose identity hasn't been disclosed, died from his injuries.

Williams says the three injured victims included the gunman's girlfriend, her daughter and the daughter's husband. The three were taken to an area hospital. Their conditions were unknown Thursday.

The GBI is assisting with the investigation.
