SEOUL, South Korea (AP) _ Australia's Andrew Buckle shot a 4-under-par 68 in the cold and rain Friday to take a two-stroke lead through the second round of the SK Telecom Open.
Buckle, an Asian Tour rookie, was 2 over after seven holes at Il Dong Lake Golf Club _ but he recovered to make four birdies and an eagle on the 15th and finished at 8-under 136 for the tournament.
``The turnaround was fairly simple really,'' Buckle said. ``The up and down on 8 for birdie from the bunker got me back on track, I hit a couple of good wedges on 10 and 11 and then took advantage of the par 5 on the back nine.''
Overnight leaders K.J. Choi of South Korea, Koji Katoh of Japan and Terry Pilkadaris of Australia all shot 71 to finish at 6 under.
South Korea's Kang Kyung-nam (71) and Park Boo-won (69) and India's Shiv Kapur (70) were at 5 under.
Former Masters champion Fred Couples shot a second consecutive 70. Defending champion Simon Yates of Scotland, who is battling a back injury that almost forced him to withdraw from the tournament Thursday, shot a 75 and made the cut with a two-day total of 145.
