NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Police say a 15-year-old Tennessee boy has been fatally shot after an altercation with others in a parking lot.

A statement from the Nashville Police Department says detectives are investigating what was behind a "continuing rift" between Jaezoine Woods and others that led to his slaying Tuesday night in the J.C. Napier Public Housing Development.

Police say they believe Woods tried to run away after being hit by gunfire, but multiple suspects got into a white car, cut him off and began firing again. The teen collapsed in the street and died later at a hospital.

Police say one suspect is described as a young black man, about 6 feet tall with a heavy build who was wearing a white T-shirt and orange shorts.
