BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) _ Nate Holmstadt had 21 points and 10 rebounds Saturday to lead Montana State to a 65-54 victory over Idaho.

Montana State (3-0) used a pair of second-half runs to beat the Vandals (1-1), who led 25-19 at halftime.

Dante Rabb had a 3-pointer and a dunk during a 15-5 run that brought MSU its first lead early in the second half.

Later, Holmstadt scored six points during an 18-5 Bobcat run that put MSU up 59-47 lead with 2:04 to play.

Idaho (1-1) jumped out to an early 8-2 lead. But as the Vandals concentrated their defensive effort on stopping Holmstadt inside, the 6-foot-8 center hit back-to-back 3-pointers to pull MSU within 15-13 with about seven minutes to play.

Holmstadt scored 13 points in the second half. Teammate Danny Sprinkle, coming off the bench with an ankle injury, had all eight of his points in the second half, including two 3-pointers.

Also in double figures for Montana State were Dante Rabb and Jamie Hooper with 10.

Kris Baumann led Idaho with 21 points, followed by Cameron Banks with 11.

Montana State outrebounded Idaho 37-26, but had 21 turnovers.
