LONDON (AP) — Saracens followed up winning its maiden European Cup rugby title by beating Exeter 28-20 in the English Premiership final at Twickenham on Saturday to complete a rare double.

The last English team to win both titles in the same season was Wasps in 2004.

Scotland center Duncan Taylor and United States captain Chris Wyles scored first-half tries for Saracens, which led 23-6 at halftime.

Exeter, bidding for its first Premiership title, fought back and tries from Jack Yeandle and England wing Jack Nowell brought the south-west club within range at 23-20.

Alex Goode's late try proved a clincher for a tiring Saracens, which defended its domestic title and backed up its win over French team Racing 92 in the European Champions Cup final two weeks ago.
