Undated (AP) _ Georgia-Pacific Corp. said Friday it has purchased a closed lumber mill in North Carolina from a subsidiary of Fiberboard Corp. Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
The Roxboro, N.C., facility, which has been closed for more than a year, is expected to employ 130 people and be fully operational by early summer 1994, Georgia-Pacific said.
The Atlanta-based company said it will spend several million dollars to modernize the mill's equipment.
The facility was formerly operated by Fiberboard Technologies Corp., a subsidiary of Standard, Calif.-based Fiberboard.
