SEOUL, South Korea (AP) _ The remains of a U.S. soldier thought to have died during the Korean War have been recovered in a provincial city, local media reported today.

The remains were found Thursday at Chinju, 175 miles southeast of Seoul while workers were moving graves at a cemetery, according to Yonhap, the South Korean news agency.

Also recovered were personal belongings of the dead American soldier, including an identity tag bearing the name Jack Walker.

City officials in Chinju have informed the U.S. military command in Seoul of the discovery, it said.
