Stocks Higher; Dow Up 16, Nasdaq Gains 6

NEW YORK (AP) _ Stock prices were higher at the start of trading, with the Dow Jones industrial average up 16 points. The Nasdaq composite index was ahead six points and the Standard-and-Poor's 500 stock index is up a fraction.
Advancing issues on the New York Stock Exchange hold a four-to-three lead over decliners.
Without any new economic or earnings news to drive stock trading on Monday, investors may once again focus on the disappointing jobs creation numbers released on Friday.
The weak employment report damped investor sentiment Friday and left the major indexes mixed.
Shares of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. are under pressure again today. The stock tumbled Friday after the jury in Stewart's obstruction-of-justice trial found her guilty on counts of conspiracy, false statements and obstruction of justice. The stock is down another 13 percent this morning.
In addition, the company's board is scheduled to meet today to decide what course of action to take.
