JUPITER, Fla. (AP) _ This Palm Beach County suburb is the site of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company's first residential golf community, a luxurious club on a course designed by Jack Nicklaus.
The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa will be a 285-acre gated community offering residents country club memberships, an 18-hole golf course, a spa and three styles of homes.
Land for customized homes starts at $675,000, predesigned homes cost $1.5 million to $2 million and membership in fractional-ownership properties begin at $220,000.
The homes are currently for sale. The golf course is set to open in the fall.
A similar exclusive club for skiing opened last year in Aspen, Colo. The Ritz-Carlton also plans a beach club in the Virgin Islands and a second ski community in Colorado.
