Reports: Actress Dropped From 'Beverly Hills, 90210'
Dec. 17, 1993
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Don't bother including the ''Beverly Hills, 90210'' zipcode on mail to Shannen Doherty.
The actress equally well-known for her off-the-set exploits was dropped from the Fox TV series after four years of playing Brenda Walsh, the Hollywood Reporter and Daily Variety reported Thursday.
Producer Aaron Spelling wouldn't confirm or deny the reports.
''We have no comment. She will be working on the show until the end of the season,'' said Rachel McAllister, publicist for Spelling Entertainment.
Miss Doherty's publicist, Stan Rosenfeld, couldn't be reached for comment Thursday.
''Beverly Hills, 90210'' features a cast of squeaky-clean young stars that includes Jason Priestley, Luke Perry, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green, Jennie Garth, Gabrielle Carteris and Tori Spelling.
Miss Doherty, 22, captured headlines with off-screen escapades such as bar brawls. She recently married Ashley Hamilton, the 19-year-old son of actor George Hamilton, after dating him just three weeks.
Earlier this year, Miss Doherty inspired an ''I Hate Brenda'' newsletter. The first issue, devoted to the actress' ''seemingly endless runs of hissy fits,'' sold 7,000 copies.
