SEATTLE (AP) — A brush fire along Interstate 5 in Seattle raced up a hill and damaged a home and shed.
KCPQ-TV reports that Seattle firefighters were called to the Beacon Hill area, after a huge brush fire started before 5:00 a.m. Friday on the side of northbound I-5 near Boeing Field.
WSDOT cameras along I-5 showed flames racing up a hill toward nearby homes.
Fire crews were later dispatched to a Beacon Hill neighborhood as the fire damaged one nearby house fire.
Seattle fire later tweeted that the brush fire had been extinguished.
Traffic cameras showed the right two lanes of northbound I-5 were blocked, with drivers backed up for miles. It was unclear when the road would fully reopen.
