Bond Prices Mixed at Midday

NEW YORK (AP) _ Treasury bond prices were mixed at midday Thursday.
The price of the Treasury's 10-year note was up 25/32 point, or $7.813 per $1,000 in face value, around midday Thursday, while its yield fell to 3.94 percent from 4.03 percent late Wednesday. Prices and yields move in opposite directions.
The 30-year bonds were up 1 25/32 point and yielded 4.94 percent, down from 5.06 percent late Wednesday, according to Moneyline Telerate.
Two-year Treasury notes were down 1/32 point and yielded 1.85 percent, up from 1.83 percent late Wednesday.
Yields on one-month Treasury bills fell to 1.20 percent as the discount fell 0.02 percentage point to 1.19 percent. Three-month Treasury bills yielded 1.22 percent as the discount fell 0.01 percentage point to 1.19 percent. Six-month Treasury bills were unchanged, yielding 1.26 percent with a discount of 1.23 percent.
Yields are the interest bonds pay by maturity, while the discount is the interest at which they are sold.
