PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ The Boston Bruins recalled goalie Tim Thomas from Providence of the American Hockey League on Thursday.
Goalie John Grahame took three first-period shots off his mask and didn't return to start the second period against Vancouver on Wednesday because of a shoulder injury.
He was spotted with a sling on his right shoulder after the game, but Boston coach Robbie Ftorek said it ``didn't seem to be that serious.''
Steve Shields replaced Grahame and quickly gave up two goals on four shots, but was rarely tested in the final period and finished with 14 saves. The Bruins won 6-3.
Thomas, 28, had a 2.44 goals against average in 32 games last season with Karpat Oulu of Finland. He has a 3.47 GAA in 52 career AHL and IHL games, with a 16-30-3 record over three seasons.
