LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) _ Manuel Forrest scored three baskets as Louisville erupted for the first 14 points of the second half and rolled past South Florida 68-61 Wednesday in a second-round game of the National Invitation Tournament.
Louisville led just 34-31, but Forrest started the game-breaking run with a jumper from the baseline.
Louisville held a commanding 48-31 advantage when Mike Abram ended the streak with 15:10 remaining.
Tommy Tonelli ended the scoring drought for South Florida on a basket with 14:15 to go.
The victory before 19,042, pushed Louisville's record to 18-16 and guaranteed the Metro Conference Cardinals a winning season for the 41st consecutive year.
South Florida, of the Sun Belt Conference, bowed out at 18-12.
Forrest led the Cardinals with 21 points. Jeff Hall and Billy Thompson scored 11 apiece and Abram finished with 10.
Darryl Patterson scored 18 points to lead the Bulls and Charlie Bradley finished with 13.
