Central China Bridge Collapses

BEIJING (AP) _ A bridge in central China's Hubei province collapsed, killing nine people and injuring 12 others, the official Xinhua News Agency reported Friday.
The stone bridge gave way Thursday night in Daokou village dropping at least 20 people into the river, Xinhua said. The victims were mostly elderly villagers out on an evening stroll, the news agency said.
The cause of the collapse was under investigation, Xinhua said.
