Yankees' Irabu To Miss Start
Aug. 19, 1998
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Hideki Irabu, the only Yankees pitcher to lose in the past two weeks, will miss his scheduled start Thursday because of a sore instep.
Irabu (11-6) was hit in the foot by a liner last Saturday against Texas. The Yankees said he is not expected to miss more than one start and picked Mike Buddie (3-0) to replace him against Minnesota on Thursday.
Irabu lost to Oakland on Aug. 5 and to Texas last Saturday. Going into Tuesday night's game at Kansas City, no other Yankees pitcher has lost since Aug. 2 at Seattle.
