NEW YORK (AP) _ Treasury bond prices were mostly lower at midday Wednesday.

The price of the Treasury's 10-year note was up 6/32 point, or $1.875 per $1,000 in face value, around midday Wednesday, while its yield fell to 5.19 percent from 5.21 percent late Tuesday. Prices and yields move in opposite directions.

The 30-year bonds were down 5/32 point and yielded 5.67 percent, up from 5.66 percent late Tuesday.

Yields on three-month Treasury bills fell to 3.94 percent as the discount fell 0.15 percentage point to 3.85 percent. Six-month yields fell to 3.97 percent as the discount fell 0.17 percentage point to 3.84 percent. One-year yields fell to 3.97 percent as the discount fell 0.17 percentage point to 3.82 percent.

Yields are the interest bonds pay by maturity, while the discount is the interest at which they are sold.
