DETROIT (AP) _ Minnesota Twins shortstop Cristian Guzman was forced to leave Wednesday night's game after dislocating his left shoulder with a headfirst slide into first base.

With Dustan Mohr on third and two out in the third inning, Guzman hit a high chopper to Detroit shortstop Deivi Cruz. Guzman beat the throw to first with his slide but remained on the ground.

Trainers worked on Guzman's left arm and shoulder before he was helped to the dugout. Denny Hocking pinch-ran and stayed in the game to play shortstop.
