Contract talks stall for UVM Medical Center nurses
Aug. 03, 2018
BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — The University of Vermont Medical Center and nurses weren't able to work out a contract this week.
WCAX-TV reports the hospital and nurses couldn't agree on a wage increase Wednesday night. The hospital did agree to increase bonuses for 600 nurses at the top pay level.
Both sides have been negotiating pay issues since March.
The nurses' union has proposed a 23 percent wage increase over three years. The hospital has pushed for a 13 percent increase.
Hospital administrators say another federal mediator will be brought in for bargaining sessions on Aug. 13 and 14.
