CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) _ Corey Benjamin and Iyan Walker scored 13 points apiece to help Oregon State overcome a sluggish second-half effort and beat St. Martin's 73-61 Tuesday night.
The Beavers (6-1), who face No. 6 Utah in Portland on Saturday, needed a 17-2 second-half run to pull away from the Div. 2 Saints (2-6).
Reddmond Pepper of St. Martin's had game-high 22 points and 10 rebounds.
The Saints, down 43-25 at halftime, pulled within three points twice in the second half, the last time at 50-47 on a hook shot from Bjorn Magnusson with 10:53 to go.
Oregon State held the Saints to just a single field goal over the next seven minutes, taking a 67-49 lead with 4:38 to play.
Jerome Vaden scored six of his 12 points for the Beavers in that stretch.
St. Martin's turned the ball over 32 times, and Oregon State turned those into 42 points.
The Beavers were outrebounded for just the second time this season, as the Saints led the Beavers 36-26 on rebounds.
