Quake Rattles Tokyo Area

TOKYO (AP) _ A fairly strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.9 shook Yokohama, Tokyo and nearby areas Sunday night, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
The quake, was strong enough to shake houses and topple vases. It was most strongly felt in Yokohama, a major port city 18 miles southwest of Tokyo.
Kimihiro Tanabe, a police official in Kanagawa prefecture. where Yokohama is located, said there had been no reports of damage or injuries.
The Central Meteorological Agency said the quake's center was about 48 miles undersea in Tokyo Bay off Yokohama.
No tsunami were expected, the agency said.
