SKOWHEGAN, Maine (AP) — Game wardens and local police are mapping out a search for a Skowhegan man who disappeared on a walk to his mother's house.

Skowhegan Deputy Police Chief Dan Summers said the search is getting underway for 40-year-old Vaughn Giggey III, who set off on foot from his apartment Friday night for his mother's house less than two miles away.

He said the state police major crimes unit has been alerted.

The Morning Sentinel ( ) says friends and family members searched the area between Giggey's apartment and his mother's house on Sunday, but did not find him. The newspaper says Giggey is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds and has a goatee.
