BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) _ Michelle Tribout's kids drove her up a tree _ literally _ but a brownie peace offering from her offspring lured her back down today.

The 36-year-old mother of three climbed a tree in her yard Tuesday and went on strike against her family.

After ascending to an 8-foot-by-8-foot treehouse, Tribout said she was fed up with the back talk, whining and the general lack of appreciation from her children. She had posted a bright yellow sign in front of her home reading: ``On Strike Mom _ No cooking, cleaning, doctoring, banking, or taxi service. Out of Order.''

``I wait on them hand and foot. I love them. I'd do anything in the world for them. But they're going to treat me nice,'' she said Tuesday.

She stayed in the treehouse overnight but came down after her children left brownies at the base of the tree. ``Negotiations are under way,'' she said today.

Her husband, Sonny, 38, had the children _ Rachel, 7, Joseph, 13, and Misty, 15 _ do some chores Tuesday night, in hopes of getting them out of Mom's doghouse.

But Sonny thinks he knows the real problem in his family.

``Two teens in the house,'' he said, smiling.
