Cob Castro wins WBO flyweight title

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) _ Melchor Cob Castro won a lopsided, 12-round decision over defending WBO flyweight champion Jesus Chong on Monday night at the Great Western Forum.
Cob Castro, 29, of Mexico, dominated the fight despite sustaining a cut over his left eye in the 10th round. He also had points taken away in the sixth and 11th rounds for low blows.
Cob Castro, who weighed in at 108 pounds, won by scores of 118-108, 118-108 and 117-109. He improved to 50-5-4 with 21 knockouts.
Chong, 32, also of Mexico, weighed 107 1/2 pounds in his first title defense. He dropped to 31-8 with 27 knockouts.
On the undercard, NABO junior middleweight champion Rodney Jones won his 13th straight fight, stopping Tim Shocks in the 12th round.
Jones, of Campo, Calif., improved to 18-2 with his 10th knockout, while Shocks, of Seattle, dropped to 17-4.
