Danbury inspectors failed 13 commercial kitchens in the fall

February 7, 2019

DANBURY - Thirteen commercial kitchens failed their health inspections in the fall - including three kitchens that failed inspections twice in back-to-back months, according to City Hall records.

The 13 kitchens that failed their inspections in September, October and November have subsequently passed their re-inspections.

And in the case of one restaurant that failed its inspection twice in back-to-back months, new ownership has taken over and is promising changes.

The kitchens, which failed mostly for food temperature violations or for risking food spoilage or contamination, include delicatessens, restaurants, and a fast-food franchise.

Fined $250 for failing their inspections were Banana Brazil Restaurant, Beijing Danbury, Cerda Grocery & Deli, Express Fuels & Food Mart, Mi Mundo Coffee Shop, Homestyle Foods, Las Americas Restaurant, Latin Deli & Grocery, Market Place, and Subway on Main Street.

The kitchens that failed their inspections twice in back-to-back months were C&C Delicatessen, Trellis Restaurant, and Zaytuna Restaurant.
