Fremantle only unbeaten team in Australian Rules football
MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — The Fremantle Dockers won their sixth consecutive match in the Australian Football League to remain the only undefeated team in the top tier of Australian Rules football this season.
Matthew Pavlich kicked four goals as the Dockers beat Essendon 12.8 (80) to 7.10 (52) on Saturday night in Western Australia.
Both teams closest to the Dockers — the Western Bulldogs and Collingwood — lost weekend matches. They were four points behind going into the round and now trail by eight, along with three other teams.
St. Kilda came from 55 points behind early in the third quarter for a 14.10 (94) to 13.9 (87) win over the Bulldogs. Geelong beat Collingwood 15.10 (100) to 8.11 (59).
Greater Western Sydney beat defending champion Hawthorn 16.12 (108) to 14.14 (98).
