Winter weather advisory continues through late afternoon
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio through late this afternoon.
Areas north and west of Fort Wayne are expected to have up to 2 inches of additional snow, mixed at times with sleet and freezing rain, the weather service said in its outlook. Total accumulations of 2 to 4 inches of snow, with isolated higher amounts, and a light glaze of ice are expected.
Hazardous road conditions will continue into this afternoon, the weather service said.
This area includes DeKalb, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash and Whitley counties in Indiana and Defiance and Williams counties in Ohio.
Areas from Fort Wayne south are expected to have additional snow accumulations of up to 1 inch, with a light glaze of ice. Total accumulations of up to 1 inch of snow and ice accumulations of a quarter of an inch to a third of an inch are expected.
Slippery road conditions are expected to continue into this afternoon, the weather service said.
This area includes Allen, Adams, Huntington and Wells counties in Indiana and Paulding and Van Wert counties in Ohio.
