Police: Man didn’t die from crashing electric scooter

November 26, 2018

ST. LOUIS (AP) — St. Louis police say a 38-year-old man who died while walking a Lime scooter apparently suffered some type of medical problem.

Authorities had said earlier that the man crashed the scooter into a tree in St. Louis on Saturday night.

KSDK reports that police on Monday said surveillance videos showed the man walking the scooter, not riding it. Officers who responded determined he had died suddenly from a medical issue. His body was found near a tree.

Officers also found narcotics at the scene.

Police are not investigating the death as a criminal incident.
